《大河之舞》（Riverdance，港译《舞起狂澜》）是爱尔兰的传统的踢踏舞舞剧，规模宏大，气势磅礴。起源于1994年4月30日，欧洲歌唱大赛节目过场时段有一段7分钟的踢踏舞蹈表演，深受观众喜爱。继而改编为一场约2小时的剧场秀，随着不断的演出和改进，内容除爱尔兰的踢踏舞外，又融合了西班牙的佛朗明哥舞、俄罗斯的芭蕾舞及美国纽约风格的的爵士踢踏舞等。《大河之舞》自1995年2月在都柏林首演以来，已经在全世界演出超过12000场，《大河之舞》的DVD录影在全球销售超过1500万张，荣获格莱美最佳音乐专辑的《大河之舞》原声带创造了750万张的销售佳绩，连续在美国、澳大利亚、英国获得白金唱片荣誉。

第二幕

战争，饥荒和奴隶制度割断了人与自然的原始的纽带，搅乱了整个人类社会，并改变了土著居民的历史。当我们回顾历史，我们学会了去保护我们所珍视的东西，去适应他人，去学着以其他的新的方式保留自己的风格，去拥抱新的勇气，被社会遗弃成为暂时的孤儿，我们学会了如何融入社会。

第十场 梦醒美洲

从19世纪中期开始，饥饿和饥荒和理想驱使爱尔兰人背井离乡，越过大西洋来到一个新的世界。有情人因此被拆散，家庭和社会也渐渐破裂。

第十一场 准备起飞

当这些被迫背井离乡的人们面对分别的心碎，他们的灵魂经常涌起一股坚定的希望，他们坚信会战胜困难找到美好的生活。

第十二场 新世界的劳工

IV） 世界的心跳

我们在母亲腹中听到母亲的心跳，那是我们最早听到的的声音。整个世界回荡这种旋律，每天都是新的。

第十三场 家乡的中心地区

移民的孩子总是牵挂着家乡，他们总是期盼着回家。他们带来的是长期保留下来的意念：我们是我们的过去，我们是我们的现在。带着新的自信和自豪，这些孩子把值得珍藏的记忆带回家乡。经历了漫漫旅途回到故乡，而更加多姿多彩的新的旅途才刚刚开始。

1965年出生于英国伯明翰、原籍爱尔兰的柯林·唐恩3岁开始习舞，4岁便参加爱尔兰舞蹈大赛并一鸣惊人，9岁时夺得了世界冠军并崭露头角，成为第一位在同一年度赢得爱尔兰冠军、英国冠军与世界冠军的舞蹈家。到1991年为止，他已赢得9次爱尔兰冠军、11次英国冠军与9次世界冠军，他已经是当之无愧的“舞王”。柯林在前往加拿大参加“The Chieftain”的巡回演出时，与珍·布洛尔(Jean Butler)在舞台上相遇，从此两人便成为舞蹈事业上的最佳搭档。

珍·布洛尔（Jean Butler）

凯蒂·麦玛虹（Katie McMahon）

摩根·克罗利（Morgan Crowley）

布景

《大河之舞》的布景更是将其剧情展现得淋漓尽致、丝丝入扣。全场采用日月星辰、河流山川、村庄等这样一个个具有鲜活生命气息的实在物质作为布景。不仅将爱尔兰人民热爱自然、崇尚生命的精神表现得尽善尽美，并且使演员和布景完美地融合在了一起。你中有我、我中有你。而此时的观众更是在布景的提示下，不仅深深地读懂了演员所要表达的理想、内容，并且有一种身临其境、驰骋忘归的深刻的生命体验。

1995年，《大河之舞》在都柏林的点库剧院首映。

1996年，《大河之舞》在纽约的演出是在百老汇最大的、拥有5882个座位的广播城音乐0举行，结果场场爆满。

1998年，《大河之舞》在伦敦海德公园演出，每场观众都达2万5千名之多。

2002年，《大河之舞》在日内瓦演出时出现了一票难求的局面。

2003年十一期间，《大河之舞》首度来华，在人民大会堂连演8场，场场爆满。2003年来华时的两位领舞Joanne Doyle和Conor Hayes都已退休。女领舞Joanne已结婚生子，定居法国。男领舞Conor在澳大利亚墨尔本经营一个非常成功的舞蹈学校。
